As a volunteer, what was the one thing that affected you the most during your experience.
The kindness of the people.
The amount of destruction.
The lack of progress.
Good friends made while there.

  Americans Rebuilding America

Welcome to RebuildUSA.net!

“I am only one, but still, I am one. I cannot do everything but I can do something. And, because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do what I can.”
— Edward Everett Hale, American clergyman and writer (1822-1909)

RebuildUSA.net is the direct result of a "computer person's" application of how to help with the disaster relief efforts underway in the United States today. Many organizations are looking to become involved with this effort and, although work is progressing, this site will strive to help it work better. Through the interactive abilities of this web site, organizations will have a voice to collaborate, request items and focus energies on immediate concerns.

As this site grows, it is hoped that we will be able to become more and more in tune with the needs of not only the constiuent organizations we strive to help, but the people who have been affected by loss and the people who have a need to give.

God Bless

Site Features

Submit News
Here is where you can add your stories. The stories will be moderated for appropriate content. Please feel free to share your story with others. It is important for everyone to know what is happening in disaster areas, especially those who don't know how slow the recovery is going.

Announcements
Here is where you can read the different stories. The stories are listed according to how they are categorized. The little squares on top of each column will allow the list to be sorted by that column.

Submit Events
Have an important event coming up? You can post your events on a private and personal calendar. The more you post on the public calendar, the more people will know about your events!

Photo Albums
Due to space restrictions, photo albums must be approved ahead of time. Email the webmaster to get an album setup for your photos. Photos should be put into albums rather than be included in news submissions.

Forms
Forms will be developed to help organizations share information on equipment, resources, manpower, etc.
The more we work together, the more we can do.

  Joni and Friends
I hope you all are aware of the wonderful work that Joni and Friends does at The Chapel in Akron. Wheelchairs are donated from all over the country, and shipped here for repair. The ones that need more extensive repairs are then sent to a prison in Louisiana where they are rebuilt and returned here to Akron. They are then shipped all over the world to people that could not otherwise have one. Think about that for just a second. There actually are people in this world that cannot walk, and do not have a wheelchair! Shanda, and Margaret and their dedicated volunteer staff are doing their best to eliminate that. It is quite an extensive operation, and one that gets little praise for a huge need. Click Here to find out more about Joni and Friends.
